- One approximately $5,000 scholarships awarded, renewable for 4 years
- Must graduate from GFH and plan to attend a college or university completing a 4 year curriculum in a bachelors degree program
- Must have maintained a 2.00 GPA through high school
- Student must qualify as being financially in need of assistance to attend college/university
- Student shall not have received or be receiving any other substantial scholarships, but may receive student aid and loans from to the sources

Barnard Scholarship Application |
The income from the Fred and Marie Barnard Scholarship Fund is to be used each year to provide scholarships, in a number and amount to be determined by First Trust Company of Montana to worthy graduating seniors from Great Falls High School who are interested in attending any college or university.
- One $1,000 scholarship
- Applicant must be a GFHS graduating senior.
- Priority will be given to higher GPA with consideration for class load and difficulty of subjects taken
- Applicant must demonstrate why they are in need of this scholarship
- The applicant must demonstrate what they have contributed in volunteerism to community, church or high school
- The applicant must provide a current transcript posting 7th semester grades
- The applicant must submit one letter of recommendation
- Application due to the counseling center by March 22, 2024
Suhr Family Scholarship Application |
Isadora Alvira Huff was born August 8, 1898 in Independence, Wisconsin. She graduated from Independence High School in 1916 and went on to attend LaCrosse State Teachers College, LaCrosse, Wisconsin. She graduated in 1918 with a major in Physical Education. In 1928 she joined the Great Falls High School faculty where she became head of the Physical Education department until she retired. On January 22, 1947 Isadora married Carl H. Suhr, the local owner of the Mayflower Moving Company in Great Falls. The Suhr family has established a scholarship to be awarded to a Great Falls High School graduating senior who is in need of financial assistance. The recipients will be eligible for a four year continuous scholarship in the amount of $1,000 per year, contingent on funds and grades.
- One $1,500 scholarship, renewable for 4 years
- The applicant must be a GFHS graduating senior
- The applicant must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0
- The applicant must demonstrate financial need, leadership, and good citizenship
- Must attend a four-year college or university
- The applicant must provide a current transcript posting 7th semester grades

On August 11, 2009, Alta Haugse passed away and with her passing the Ralph Haugse Memorial Trust was established. The funds comprising this scholarship award came in part from the sale of Ralph’s rental business (Leland Apartments), owned and operated by Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Haugse on four lots on 1st Avenue North and 7th Street. The purpose of this award is to provide funds for graduating seniors from any accredited high school located in Great Falls, Montana. Students are selected based on economic need, educational goals, and GPA. The recipient of the Ralph Haugse Memorial Scholarship must maintain a "C" average while in college and must carry at least 12 credits per semester.
- 2 $12,000 scholarship, renewable for 4 years

Ghekiere Scholarship Application |
The Gene Ghekiere Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to a graduating GFHS senior involved in high school sports at least 3 years, preferably track or cross-country.
- One $500 scholarship
- Required 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA
- Must be involved in high school sports for 3 or more years (preference given for track or cross country)
- Include current transcript with 7th semester grades.
- Include one letter of recommendation
- Application due to the counseling center by March 22, 2024

- $4,000 ($2,000 per semester) renewable for 4 years
- Required 3.5 or higher cumulative GPA
- Must be majoring in fields of education, mathematics, or counseling.
- At least 1 letter of recommendation (and up to 3 letters of recommendation, if you choose).

The Derek John Dowson Fund was established by the family of Derek Dowson to honor his memory. Derek was taken in a farm accident in the summer after his sophomore year. The life of Derek Dowson was too short, but the accomplishments in those years were that of a long life. Derek’s passions in life were Family, Friends, School, and Sports. He was a 4.0 student through Jr. High and High School. He was very talented in sports. His sophomore year he started outside linebacker and tight end positions on the Varsity Football Team and received Academic All-State and Honorable Mention Awards. In Basketball, he was sixth man on the Varsity team. He received the Jeff Wiggins Memorial Most Improved Player Award. In Track his freshman and sophomore years, he ran the 400m run and the 4x1600m relay and received All-State Awards in the 4x1600m relay both years. The life of Derek Dowson was marked by his amazing ability to get the best out of everything he did whether it was being a friend, playing sports or in school. He did everything 110% and was living proof if you give life that 110%, anything can be accomplished.

- Participated in a minimum of two varsity sports, and will be attending college in the fall

Class of 1968 Monty Dolack Scholarship |
At the Class of 1968's 30th reunion, Monte Dolack, member of the Class of '68 was asked to do a painting of a buffalo in the Great Falls High School building. This painting, named "Montana History Lesson" was then given to GFHS as a class gift. Prints of the painting were sold and proceeds from that sale are being used as a scholarship for a GFHS senior who excels in fine arts: sketching drawing, painting, creative arts, ceramics, sculpture, stagecraft and drama. The scholarship is in the amount of $500 and must be used at a Montana university or college.

"Pixie" Scholarship |
Dorothea “Pixie” Hegland was born in Cascade, Montana and graduated from Great Falls High School in 1966. In 2001 Pixie received the gift of life—one organ donor made it possible for her and seven other people to receive organ transplants. She became one of the first-ever split-lung transplant recipients and it extended her life and time with family and friends several years. Pixie’s family wishes to encourage organ donation via a memorial scholarship in her name, to recognize students who advocate for organ donation awareness and for increased registration of organ donors. This scholarship will be awarded to two GFHS graduating seniors who are in need of financial assistance.
- Two $1000 scholarships
- Must be a GFHS graduate and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher after 7 semesters. Students with a GPA of 2.5-3.0 who can demonstrate that they have overcome special circumstances or obstacles and who meet the other requirements will be considered
- Must provide a current transcript posting grades through 7th semester.
- Must show the need for financial assistance. Providing the Estimated Family Contribution page from their Free Application for Federal Student Aid is permissible.
- Must submit one letter of recommendation which should address the areas of character, citizenship, and determination.

Bison Boosters: Big Blue Scholarship

Two Big Blue Scholarships will be awarded annually by the Bison Boosters Club to two deserving seniors. The award consists of a $1000 check to the recipient and inscription of the recipient’s name(s) on a plaque permanently displayed at Great Falls High.
The criteria for the awards are as follows:
